The Corner Radius Carbide End Mill WRN (standard length) series belongs to the corner radius end mill family and is preferred for roughing, general purpose milling and high feed work. A carbide body allows a higher cutting speed and a longer tool life than an HSS tool.
This family contains 16 sizes; the cutting diameter spans 1 – 20 mm, the shank diameter 4 – 20 mm, the flute length 3 – 45 mm, the overall length 50 – 100 mm, the corner radius 0.2 – 0.5 mm. The price range is $12.00 – $319.00 (excl. VAT).
Choosing within the family: Within the same geometry this series offers the widest choice of sizes (16 sizes); its entry price is the lowest of that group ($12.00).
Application note: The corner radius spreads stress away from the corner. Under the same conditions it lasts longer than a square end tool and allows a higher feed.

Is D1 or D2 the relevant dimension when ordering?
Both are considered together. D1 is the cutting diameter and sets the width of the slot to be cut. D2 is the shank diameter and states what the holder or collet has to grip. On small diameter cutters the shank is usually thicker than the cutting diameter, so the row whose D2 matches the available collet is chosen.
Is this 4 flute tool suitable for full slotting?
On a 4 flute tool the chip gullet is narrow; in full slotting (ae = D1) the gullet can pack and break the tool. A 2–3 flute tool or a trochoidal strategy (ae ≤ 0.1 × D) is preferred for full slots.
