Product description
The Ball Nose Carbide End Mill WKN (standard length) series belongs to the ball nose end mill family and is preferred for 3D surfacing, mould finishing and curved forms. A carbide body allows a higher cutting speed and a longer tool life than an HSS tool.
This family contains 16 sizes; the cutting diameter spans 1 – 20 mm, the shank diameter 3 – 20 mm, the flute length 2 – 24 mm, the overall length 50 – 100 mm. The price range is $10.90 – $388.50 (excl. VAT).
Choosing within the family: Its entry price is the lowest of that group ($10.90); it carries the thinnest shank of that group (Ø3 mm).
Application note: On a ball nose the cutting speed falls to zero towards the centre. Tilting the tool relative to the surface so that centre contact is avoided is therefore preferred; surface finish and tool life both improve.
Every order code in the table below can be added straight to the cart. The meaning of the column abbreviations is explained in the dimension code guide. Spindle speed and feed can be worked out with the cutting parameter calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Which sizes does the WKN series cover?
This family contains 16 sizes; the cutting diameter spans 1 – 20 mm. The full list is in the table above; every row is a separate order code and can be added straight to the cart.
Is D1 or D2 the relevant dimension when ordering?
Both are considered together. D1 is the cutting diameter and sets the width of the slot to be cut. D2 is the shank diameter and states what the holder or collet has to grip. On small diameter cutters the shank is usually thicker than the cutting diameter, so the row whose D2 matches the available collet is chosen.
How long does delivery take when an item is not in stock?
For sizes shown as "On order" the delivery time is confirmed with the order. Urgent requirements can be raised through the quote form or via WhatsApp.
